The sand-blasting technique: a very interesting possibility for three-dimensional glass design
The sand-blasting technique offers appealing possibilities for long-lasting (and partially also three-dimensional) glass design.
Here, we have all types in our product range – from simple graphic shapes to artistic designs - whether for the construction of a shop or exclusive interior furnishings.
Upon request, we will surface-seal sand-blasted panes.
This treatment significantly increases their resistance to dirt and fingerprints – also makes them much easier to maintain.
For this work, three different sand-blasting installations are available
- a manually-operated installation for panes up to 1500 mm high and any length*
- a fully-automatic module for panes up to 3210 mm high and any length *
- a so-called "fingertip", with which panes can be treated very quickly and very deeply*
As a blasting material, we use very fine grain – as a rule, approx 120- to 150-grain.
Other grains can also be used.
* = the actually possible pane size is dependent on the weight and format, and is checked for each individual case
Contact-guard materials make sand-blasting low-maintenance – upon request, also in colour
Modern contact guards now not only shield sand-blasting work from dirt – they also enable the coloured design of sand-blasting.
The contact guards are available in brilliant and pastel shades of blue, green, yellow, grey, orange and red.
